Good Enough to Die in Battle, But Not Good Enough for a Basic Law?

The Druze warriors who fell in combat during the "Swords of Iron" war, like all heroes, left behind parents, children, spouses, siblings. They rushed to reserve duty, served, and fought shoulder to shoulder—yet not as equals. Not as long as the Nation-State Law remains in effect.

One Nation, Two Separate Realities: Extremists Out,
Druze In

Between Tel Hashomer Base, where ultra-Orthodox protesters rallied against military conscription, and the Rabin Center in Tel Aviv, which hosted a tribute evening for the Druze, lies a mere 10.7 km—a distance that on Monday felt like thousands of kilometers apart. While Druze citizens who seek partnership in the state struggle for their rights in housing, electricity, and budgets, extremists who seek to dismantle the state ironically benefit from its financial resources.

Honoring the Druze Community at the Rabin Center

Participants in the tribute ceremony for the Druze community, held in Tel Aviv, voiced strong criticism of the inequality and neglect faced by Druze citizens in Israel. Now, they are determined to ignite a public discourse on their status and rights, hoping that the support they receive will translate into real action: "A true tribute involves changing reality for the better and tangible
proof on the ground."

Still Wondering What’s Wrong with the Nation-State Law?

Ahead of the vote on daycare funding for the ultra-Orthodox community, Gila Lavni-Zamir, CEO of the Israeli-Druze Center, stated: "When Druze soldiers return from the battlefield, they are met with demolition orders and hundreds of thousands of shekels in fines for their homes. Meanwhile, ultra-Orthodox Jews who refuse to serve and contribute to the war effort receive generous government funding."

Racism on Tel Aviv’s Billboards

Racism and supremacist declarations in public signage in Tel Aviv shocked many. Gila Lavni Zamir, CEO of the Israeli-Druze Center, remarked: "I was stunned to see a billboard in Tel Aviv stating that Jewish infants are worth more than non-Jewish infants—at a time when non-Jews are falling in defense of this country."

"The Jews Have Forgotten What It Means to Be Israeli," Say My Druze Friends

The malicious formula of incitement against Israeli identity in the name of Judaism was originally devised by Arthur Finkelstein, an American-Jewish political strategist. He crafted this strategy for his client, Benjamin Netanyahu, who was determinedly paving his way to the Prime Minister's Office.
In his early political career, Netanyahu leveraged the heroic legacy of his brother, Yoni Netanyahu, who fell in the Entebbe operation—a symbol of Israeli heroism. Today, that very ethos is being eroded.

As a Druze, Even with a Uniform and a Rifle, You’re Suspected as Just Another Terrorist

Last Wednesday, I traveled to Beit Jann to pay respects to the family of the late Captain Wassem Mahmoud, who was killed in the tragic Namer APC explosion. His mother held a picture of her son—a young, handsome soldier who was supposed to be discharged soon. Instead, he returned to Gaza with shrapnel wounds in his hand, determined to fight alongside his troops, and was killed. His elderly grandmother stood hunched beside her, and his sisters flanked her other side. With grace, restraint, and quiet dignity, they shook hands with the mourners, wishing them that they may never know such sorrow.

Is the IDF Becoming a Messianic Army?

The war raging since October 7th has become an opportunity for certain factions to push extreme religious ideologies, transforming democratic Israel into a messianic "State of Judea," advocating for the construction of a Third Temple, and branding defensive wars as religious battles in the name of sanctifying God.
